Dear Minigolf Athletes!
Honored Guests!

As Lord Mayor of Bamberg, I am proud that our town is hosting the World Deaf Minigolf Championships. I welcome all competitors and coaching staff to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bamberg and offer heartfelt greetings to all audience members.

Many skills are required to make a minigolfer successful: concentration, body control, a steady hand and a lot of sensitivity – to list only a few of the most important characteristics. Add to that practice, practice, and more practice. What seems such a breeze on the minigolf course is in reality the result of much preparation and hard work.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the event coordinator: 1. MGC Bamberg and the club’s chairperson Klaus Vogentanz. Once more a sports club has brought a renowned athletic competition to Bamberg. This is a resounding success that greatly benefits Bamberg as a sports city. In this context, I would also like to recognize the tireless dedication of the Club board. The Minigolf Club Bamberg has attracted such events repeatedly in the past and has established a stellar reputation as a host.

I am sending my best wishes for the success of the athletes and hope that all competitors will reach their personal goals. I am looking forward to a suspenseful and fair competition in hopefully best external conditions.

Sincerely,

Andreas Starke
Lord Mayor of Bamberg
